Collaboration Recognition: Sandi Brabb

This month, the Corporate Relations (CR) team is recognizing fellow Coug Sandi Brabb for being a great WSU partner in efforts to build holistic, long-lasting relationships with companies.

As Professional Practice and Experiential Learning Director in the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, Sandi helps engineering students prepare for the workforce, identify internship and job opportunities, facilitate conversations between students and industry, and ensure that industry partners are well aware of WSU students and their skills.

As we build relationships with engineering and technology companies in Washington interested in recruiting students, Sandi has been essential in coordinating meaningful campus visits. As an example, Corporate Relations development coordinator Brianna Rockenstire recently brought f5 to campus, and Sandi expertly helped organize tours and presentations, two ways we helped f5 share career opportunities with students.

Corporate Relations and Sandi share a vision to build holistic, long-lasting relationships with companies in order to create more opportunities for student internships and employment. While a fantastic benefit for students, these workforce development efforts also expose corporate partners to various other ways to partner with WSU, such as research partnerships and community building initiatives.

Ultimately, we are focused on creating a reliable and resilient economy, which is a major reason Corporate Relations is a department within the Office of Economic Development. Industry partnerships help the university connect with workforce needs today, and develop adoptable strategies to grow our economy into the future.
